South Dakota Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology

The mission of the South Dakota Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology is to protect the health and safety of the public by licensure of qualified persons and enforcement of the statutes, rules and regulations governing the practice of speech language pathology, including the appropriate processing and resolution of complaints.

NOTE:

SB 72 passed during the 2012 legislative session to provide for the licensure and regulation of individuals offering speech-language pathology to the public. Licensure as a speech-language pathologist or speech-language assistant is not currently available in South Dakota. Once the Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology is operational and able to issue licenses, the Board will establish a timeline for meeting the licensure requirements and work closely with speech-language pathologists and assistants in the state to assist them with the licensure process.

Please continue to check this website. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
