Background
The South Dakota Tuberculosis Elimination Advisory Committee was formed in 1995 to be an outside advisory body to the South Dakota Department of Health. The formation of a formal TB Elimination Advisory Committee had been a federal TB grant objective for many years and was recommended by the Division of TB Elimination at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Mission Statement
The South Dakota Tuberculosis Elimination Advisory Committee shall provide advice and recommendations to the South Dakota Department of Health. The Committee shall make recommendations regarding:

Membership
Membership on the committee includes representatives from the American Lung Association of South Dakota, Indian Health Service, infectious disease physicians, pulmonologists, USD School of Medicine, family practice physicians, the State Epidemiologist and other Department of Health staff.
